Over 45 years in business
Since 1978, on one street in Des Moines
Water World Ltd is a locally owned, family and woman-owned hot tub, pool and sauna company. It has kept the same showroom at 3619 Douglas Ave for as long as most of its customers have owned a yard. The easiest way to tell the story is to walk the floor.
The showroom floor
A greenhouse with tubs in it
About twenty systems are set up and working. Walk in Tuesday to Saturday, or book a time if you would rather have the floor to yourself.
Ferns, cedar and teak
The walls are cedar. The floor between the spas is teak deck tiles and gravel, with live ferns hanging over the shells and potted palms down the aisle. It is set up so you can stand next to a tub the way it will sit on your patio, not in a warehouse row. The hot tubs and the cedar sauna cabins share the same room.
Told what to expect
Water World is the authorized Maax Spas dealer for Iowa. What first-time owners say afterwards is how the sale went:
“We appreciated the low pressure sale, so we were able to get the hot tub that was right for us as first time buyers.”
Another reviewer says the staff explain what you can expect from a product and what you should not. That is the whole approach. More in the reviews.
On the radio, too
Water World is the only hot tub, pool or sauna company endorsed by Van and Bonnie of WHO Radio, 1040AM, and Bonnie has bought a tub from the showroom herself. The company also promotes at the Iowa State Fair, and it is an association member of the Better Business Bureau.
