WATER TREATMENT

Hot tub and pool water treatment supplies

Silver, chlorine, bromine, salt and natural enzyme systems, plus balancers, shock, test strips and clarifiers.

Chapter 01

Pick a sanitizer system first

Every tub and pool needs something to keep the water clean, and Water World stocks the main systems: silver, chlorine, bromine, salt and natural enzyme. They are different approaches, with different habits to live with.

Chlorine and bromine are the two most familiar. A salt system makes its own sanitizer from salt in the water. Silver and natural enzyme setups are the lighter-touch options for people who want less of a chemical smell. Which one suits you depends on who uses the tub, how often, and how much routine you want.

Ask which system matches your tub and your habits before you buy. The staff will tell you what to expect and what not to expect from each, and follow the label on whatever product you take home.

Balancing, shock and testing

Sanitizer only works when the water is balanced, so pH balancers sit next to it on the shelf. Sanitizers and shock keep the water clean, and test strips tell you where you stand before you add anything.

Test first, adjust second. It is the habit that stops people chasing the water back and forth. Bring a sample or your strip results if you are not sure what they mean, and the staff can point you to the right product.

Chapter 03

Foam, scale, stains and cloudy water

When something goes wrong with the water, there is usually a product for it. Algaecides deal with green growth. Foam reducers calm a tub that has gone frothy. Stain and scale preventers protect the shell and the heater, and clarifiers help cloudy water clear.

Filter cleaners belong on the list too. A clean filter makes everything else work better, and it pairs with the filters and pumps on the parts page.

If you are not sure which of these your water needs, describe what you are seeing. Cloudy, foamy, green or stained each points to a different fix, and a short conversation at the counter is quicker than guessing.

Water treatment supplies are stocked at 3619 Douglas Ave, Des Moines. Walk-ins welcome Tuesday to Saturday, or ring ahead.
