Swim Spas in Des Moines, IA

Hot tub relaxation with an adjustable current to swim against.

Chapter 01

A hot tub that also gives you a current to swim against

A swim spa does two jobs in one body of water. Half the time it is a hot tub: warm water, jets, somewhere to sit and let the day go. The other half it is an adjustable current you swim against, so you can put in laps without owning a full-length pool.

The word that matters is adjustable. You set the current to what you want that day, gentle for a warm-up or a slow paddle, stronger when you want to work. Call or stop by the Douglas Ave showroom and ask how the current adjusts on the models Water World carries before you decide anything.

If you only ever soak, a regular hot tub is the simpler buy. If swimming, water exercise or a long soak with room to stretch out is why you are here, a swim spa is the better fit.

Where it goes, and how big a footprint to plan for

Think about the spot before you think about the model. A swim spa takes more room than a hot tub, so the first questions are practical: how much flat ground is there, how will it be reached on delivery day, and where will the power come from.

Compare it to the pool you might have bought instead. A swim spa trades the size of a full pool for something you can warm up quickly and use most of the year, and it keeps you out of the digging and fencing that a built-in pool tends to bring. Bring a sketch of your yard or deck and we will go through it together.

We do not quote sizes or specs here because they depend on the setup you choose. Come in, see what is on the floor and ask for the details that apply to your yard.

Chapter 03

Covers, care and getting it home

A swim spa holds a lot of water, so the cover and the water care matter more than they do on a small tub. A good cover keeps heat in and debris out between swims. Take a look at our automatic options on the Covana covers page, and talk through sanitiser choices on the water treatment supplies page.

Parts and accessories for the equipment you already own are stocked in the showroom too, and if something needs a filter or a heater later, bring the old one in and we will match it.

Ask us about delivery and installation for the swim spa you choose, and about financing and layaway. Military and first responder discounts apply, so mention it when you visit.

Water World has sold hot tubs, pools and saunas out of 3619 Douglas Ave since 1978, and walk-ins are welcome Tuesday to Saturday.
